lol....I just took my first full test in Schweser Book 7. I was thrilled cause I got a 61% on the morning session, which was way better than I thought Id get, considering the questions. But I barely got above 51% in the afternoon.

PS....Schweser Book 7.....that sh*t is HARD.

I think Stalla might be on par or a little easier than Book 7 from what I hear, but i dont know how many people have done both...i will though at some point :)

Willy, book 7 was much more "specific" in terms of the questions. It barely covered the topics you KNOW are going to be on the test, like DDM. There was, I believe, only 1 or 2 straight forward DDM question on the test.

As well, more than half the test, both parts, was the two part question. That alone makes things more difficult. As well, most of the two part questions were unrelated to each other. i.e they were basically asking you two quetsions in 1.

bigwilly....dude i'm in the same boat as you my mock on sat was terrible!
JoeyDrive - what is the actual passmark?

Lets just say that for "many" of the questions, you need to read them twice because by the time you finish, you've forgotten what the beginning was about.

That goes doubly for the ethics questions. They are literally like a paragraph long and often times, as I said, are about two totally different things.

do you think joe works for CFAI?

I finished my second Book 7 test this past weekend. Only problem I had was with FSA (61% morning, 55% afternoon). Everything else acceptable (70-83% for the rest).

Having good timing is key... The morning session of the second test I was completely bogged down in FSA and I didn't even finish on time. I ended up omitting 9 questions in AV and had to deduct them from my score. In the afternoon session I just did FSA last and managed to finish on time, but my FSA score suffered as a result. With the 9 omits, I managed a 69% for the total test. Without the omits I hit 72%.

Only one test left to practice on =(

Ithink if you're getting a 69% on one of the Book 7 tests, you'll be fine on the actual exam.

I have 2 more Stallas and then I have 3 Schweser Book 7 exams still to do...I'm scared :)

from what i just read in this post, book 6 < stalla < book 7. where does the actual CFA test stand? im guessing no one knows since we are all lvl 1 candidates.

Truthfully, Im not sure Book 7 is really a good "study tool" per se. Of course, I havent taken the actual exam yet, but if the tests in Book 7 focus TOO much on the details, then the benefits it provides you might be outweighed by the negatives of not studying topics that will definitely be on the test.

I scored 70% and 72% on the first 2 books but did badly in the 3rd book only 62%. The tests are getting more difficult.

Skumar you mean you got 70 and 72 on Exams 1 & 2 of Book 6 or Book 7? Or Stalla.

i just took the a practice run through the one of book 7 exams. that was so detailed that i gave up after half an hour and went to sleep. i think im going to flip back and forth at the answers in the back as i take the practice exam later today.

I did schweser book 7 right at the first trial in straight 6 hours and got 63%. I was very upset. I used book 6 for the second trial and got 77%. I came back to book 7 in the third trial and got 67%. I took one CFAI sample test and got 81%.

Everything I read and hear is that the online samples are a lot more like the real exam than Schweser or Stalla so if you've done 81% you should be fine.
