2006 curriculum for the dec 2007 test?

Hi all,
Im planning on taking CFA 1 Dec 2007. Would the 2006 curriculum to be suffiecient to study for the test or do I need to buy the new 2007 curriculum?

Would 7 months and the CFA curriculum books be sufficient for my preparations?

I would to know if there any good preparatory tests that I could use towards the end of my preparation

I think I saw a similar question the other day... :) The answer is that you could study ANY material as long as your knowledge on the subject is good enough to pass the exam. That said, the LOS are the central part: if you can learn this year's LOS from last year's material, you'll be OK. If not: you might need another approach. How do you know? You read the LOS and all you can find on these boards re why people here have failed in the past, and then decide. There are numerous good course providers around - do your research and choose the one that suit your learning style the best. Be prepared that it requires a massive commitment to actually studying the material in d-e-t-a-i-l. Don't fool yourself into thinking there is an "easy" way into this.

Thanks a lot of your feedback. I think im gonan play it safe and order 2007 curriculum.
But would you know if the curriculum comes with sample practice tests as well? I dont have too much reference material on the same topic, I simply get lost and lose my focus.
So, I might just stick with the 2007 curriculum. But I could really use some additional sample tests.

You might find it worthwhile to go through different course providers' material when it comes to doing practice tests. For me I didn't really get going until I ordered Schweser's material including QBank & 16-week seminar series. Sometimes they say "less is more" but there are occasions when the conclusion might be "more is more" - only YOU can know what kind of back-up you think you will need in order to guarantee that you'll be among the 35% who pass the exam and that figure doesn't even include all those people who have been aborting their studying efforts without actually attending the exam.

For me the three most important success factors have been participating in a 16-week seminar series because they've made me prepare each week, the study notes because they're so focused on the LOS, and the audios because it has helped me repeat the material more and to find little details that I might have missed. But take this advice with a grain of salt - I still have to do the exam so maybe it's better for you to ask these questions in the Level II forum...
