I was so anxious about registering for level 3 again however in the past week I’ve been hesitating alot. Since today is the last day to register, woke up, forced myself to register before going to work, and now i kinda regret it. I know it is worth it but I’m just feeling down since I didnt pass. Anyone in the same boat? I’m so discouraged although i was really anxrious after i failed .. Bah :/

i didn’t re-register…
Man.. i feel so down to be honest.. I’m not sure what would be the difference between this year’s score and next year’s score.

Yeah…i didn’t re-register because life is a bit of a mess right now and my mind is in worse condition than last time lol…so doesn’t make sense for me…since you have registered already don’t look back, be more strategic in your preparation, make sure to get the AM scores, leave this forum for a while and you will nail it!

2nd Timer here as well and understand what you guys are saying. I failed LII as well and that was difficult because it pushed the completion horizon out even further. At least we’re done when we pass this SOB…that’s still motivation at for me at this point.

Come on guys…you are almost there. Don’t give up! While you may be a little down right now (understandable), you’ll probably get the fire back later this year or early next year. At that point you’ll wish you would have registered. Hang in there!

What if re-registering is just a case of loss-aversion bias? =)

Level 4 should be definitely tough!

sounds like you put in the time, maybe you just wrote a bad exam

Band 9, and I’m right back on ‘the horse’. “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall” -Confucius

Anyone moved from a low band (2-5) to band 11? If so, can you please let us know how and what method did you use to prepare?

Band 8 first time, trying to get back on that horse. I try to schedule out 15 hrs per week of studying which I was able to do the first week of Sept but these past two weeks I havent come close to that number.
I forgot how tough it is to get going on material that you feel like you already know fairly well (feels similar to when I got going after failing L2 for the first time).
This Saturday I should be studying 5hr+ to make up for slacking this week, but instead I’ll be going out with buddies to Abe&Louies for lunch then a bar to watch football (specifically the []_[]). I just can’t go into my “cave” just yet - too much fun to have and the beers are too good in the fall!
This sucks, friggin AM section is a son of a bitch

I went from band 5 to pass. I put in a little extra time, but the one thing I did differently was 17 pages of bullets that I composed. Pretty much any time I came across something that either made me go “hmmm…” or I though was prime question material, I wrote a one or two sentence bullet. I think it really helped me in the afternoon. And as much as people say the difference is in the a.m., I think the p.m. was the difference maker. Face it, just about everyone sucked in the morning. But if you look at the differnce between the borderline passer and nonpassers, my guess it was the afternoon. My band 5 fail had a better a.m. 40/60/80 score than my pass did.

Funny thing is, Ive worked on a 50 pages notebook full of bullets, notes .. etc.. which i studied by HEART ! Solved EOC more than 5 times. I believe something fundamental went wrong with my method of preparation. I found the PM to be hard while most of the candidates said it was kind of easy. I scored around 60 on previous mocks. I didn’t only suck on the AM, but on the PM too. I used schweser to study but I didnt solve blue boxes in the CFAI books, I only solved EOCs.. So this time around im sticking to CFAI material and Schweser Mocks in addition to CFAI Mocks and previous AMs .. Anything I should add/adjust?
I was considering traveling to the US for that bootcamp but it would cost me around USD 3.5 K .. that’s more than I can afford.

Maybe the problem is not preparation but execution?

Bilal,
i gave the exam 5 times! and i got it completed in the end! do not give up!
the road has only just begun! life is full of failures and subsequent successes…so my suggestion is go for it…may be just a little tweaking on your side will yield the required result.
all the best

If need be, take a break, no harm in that. I failed L3 in 2010 (Band-10), took a break and got back and pinched it in it’s a$$ in 2012.
