Folks who have attempted mock exams, which ones did you use/plan to use?
my priority in descending order would be :-
1. Past Exams -CFAI -AM- how far back? 3 to 4 years?
2. Past and current year mocks -CFAI-PM
3.Schweser or Finquiz… Those who have used either or both may please give their feedback
Study wise. lost another week due to illnes and surgery of close relatives for which i had to travel out of town. managed some study here and there in hospital rooms.
hope to complete study and review by 20th May. cutting it a bit too close but thats how it is now.

You should properly utilize the time practising the mock tests , practise questions and sample papers of CFAI . Since close to one month left you should priotise your study according to the time availibility.

Note: AF Rewards will only be shipped to addresses in the United States.

I would agree that the past papers are the priority, and any questions written by the institute.
I’m doing Schweser book 1 and I’ve found the exams to be quite good. I still don’t think schweser can write that killer item set that the CFAI can. Although, apparently schweser structure a lot of their am questions based on past paper questions.

Thanks GB. how far back would you go in case of both AM and PM- CFAI. 3 years? Has anyone used finquiz? i am undecided but will go with schweser after CFAI. unless someone has found finquiz better.

With the AM you can go as far as 6 years (or even more) back.

3 years sound good atleast for me. given that i have a lot left to study, don’t think i will have time for more than 3 exams.
Kobi
i wish i could go that far back.

:) Edupristine is entertaining.

In order of priority:
1) CFA AM exams (actual past AM tests) that they make available.
2) CFA PM mock exam that they make available.
3) Schweser PM exams
4) Reworking End of Chaper questions in the CFAI books
5) Browsing through blue box examples in CFAI books
6) Test Trac sample exams
7) Schweser AM exams
I would simulate test day 3-4 times. Sit down and take an old CFAI AM exam, take a lunch break, then take a Schweser afternoon test. That experience should be pretty representative of the real deal.

What’s your beef with Schweser AM’s - why so low?

I started with the Schweser exams, then going to do the CFA’s.
For a couple Schweser AM’s, I’m just parceling it out, and not keeping it timed.

i think u should drink more coffee to stay awake instead of tea….tea stains ur teeth also….i luv tea

Are the schweser AM exams that bad? are they not representative of the exam?

In my experience last year, Schweser was a bit harder and more drawn out than the official exams. Again–they’re designed to teach you the material. So just because they’re not representative of the exam doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do them.

This is excellent news, thanks Greenie

I have a Schweser 2013 Volume 2 book to look at….are they any difference in structure or complexity to Volume1.
I tried a BSAS PM mock from last year, it was a nightmare…a game of find the misplaced word in the sentence…just not quite how the CFAi approaches it, all of the time form tests I have tried.
