Let me begin with some background information. I graduated in ‘02 with a B.A. in mathematics and and minor in economics. For the last five years, I have worked as an actuarial analyst for a leading actuarial consulting firm. I have had the opportunity to see many sides of the actuarial field and feel comfortable saying this career is not for me.
After year-end, I would like to begin looking for an entry-level position as an investment analyst with either an insurance company or mutual fund. To show intent, I will be sitting for CFA Level I in December.
I am concerned with my age and background that this is going to be a difficult up hill battle. I welcome any and all advice (particularly from other career changers).
As an aside, would you recommend including actuarial exams passed on a resume?
