Advice needed

Hi everyone,
I had planned on starting my prep in December but due to some serious family and job problems, I couldnt devote any real time for preparation till today.
However, I do not know how to prioritize my studies. Any advice on which topics to prioritize would be great. I also most likely wont get a week before off. (I recently got laid off and had to find a job-new boss says he doesnt care much about the CFA since I am in a temporary role)
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
 
All of it is a priority. No shortcuts unfortantely.

Yeah I know. But still like what topics to focus on? Or atleast where do I start off?
 
If I were you, this is what I would do.
I would watch videos for topics in below order and also at the same time go through EOC and Blue boxes from CFAI books. (I would only move on to another topic after mastering one - problem solving perspective)
Behavioral finance
Private wealth management
Institutional wealth management
Risk management (total 4 readings including derivatives)
AssetAllocation
Fixed Income/Equity
Trading, Monitoring and rebalancing
Performance evaluation and GIPS
Ethics.
At this point, I would actually watch videos and move on to problem solving instead of trying to read.
Someone explaining would be lot faster than trying to read and figure out (time is the key here)
A lot to cover in two months.
Can you not just fall sick and take a week off being sick a week before exam? (you know what I mean)

If you do 2 hours a day, 10 hours on sat/sun…thats 240 hours for 8 wks. Totally doable if you can committ yourself to it.
Read Schweser notes, do CFAI EOB/BB, save 3 weeks for 6 full mocks. Good luck.

is 240 hours really sufficient enough to pass this test? im just curious what the concensus is on this
 
Id personally aim for 300+ at the minimum, but I feel like if you put in quality hours, theres a good chance of passing at 200+. However, you must committ at least 120+ doing practice questions and full mocks (especially the past CFA AM essays) to really improve your chance.
 
ar169- to be completely frank, unless you can devote the next 2 months to studying *at least 30 hours per week*, you have less than a 5% chance of passing in 2015. But at the very least, take it all in as a learning experience and know that you can walk into the exam room next year with a clear advantage over others sitting for LIII.
Nevertheless, go “balls to the wall” and give it a shot. Hope you can prove me wrong.
