Advices for level II candidate who wants to prepare Level III

Hi everyone,
I’ve been a silent reader for the last two years plus (took my level 1 back in Dec ‘14). I feel like I owe the community here so I would like to thank every contributor here especially S2000 after completing my level 3 last June. Some insight from me on passing level 3 (I got straight passes 3/3) :
1) Almost everyone in Malaysia that I know who have taken or the candidates who were studying for level 3 told me they have difficulty in managing the time for the morning paper. I thought I managed my time well as I’ve never exceeded 3 hours when I was doing all level 3 mocks (completed around 5 full mocks). But in the real exam, oh boy. :P My point here is, even though you think you can manage the time well, stick to writing what comes to your mind at that time. If you got stuck, just proceed to the next question. You can always come back to those questions later. It’s better to partially answer all questions than completing question 1 until 7 but leaving the remaining blank (due to time constraint;very common in exam).
2) The materials for level 3 are not as taxing as materials you have to study for level 2. You should be able to score well in the afternoon session. I was averaging 40/60 in all my afternoon mocks a few days before the real exam (i know I know, not even at par with some of you here :P) If I can pass by just averaging 40/60, so can you! (but I made sure I score at least 110/180 averagely in the morning mocks)
3) I find WIley’s efficientlearning.com in some way a summarised version of the textbooks (I mean cut-and-paste kind of summary). Schweser’s is also a summary however they always use their own words to explain the materials. When I do the CFA online questions, I don’t get the same feeling because of different way of phrasing and wording between CFA and Schweser. Exploit Wiley’s reference materials! You can still get the feeling of reading textbooks by just going through Wiley’s books. However, caveat here is WILEY IS ******* LATE IN RELEASING THEIR MATERIALS I GOT BLOODY ****** OFF as the exam was nearing. Still good tho.
4) I read through Schweser’s Secret Sauce once. The material was good at serving as the memory joggers and making the understanding of theories whole (remember I mentioned Level 3 materials are not as taxing as Level 2’s? You can finish reading Secret Sauce very fast).
5) Nothing beats practicing the morning sessions by writing down the answers rather than just keeping the answers in your head.
6) CFA online questions and mocks, plus past years’ morning questions. Goes without saying, no?
After doing all these I believe you should be able to do well (at least for me doing well means passing, not all >70%) lol
All the best to all Level 3 June ‘17 takers. You can definitely ace the exam! :)
Thank you again to all contributors here. I hope everyone can benefit from this post as much as I’ve benefited from other posts here.

Thank you, but English is my third language (and second foreign language). So, I’ll fail the level III for sure without preparing level III from now.
I was wondering why you say you will fail FOR SURE without preparing it from now.
I can’t believe you made such conclusion. I don’t care whether English is your second, third or fourth language, but I think everyone here can read what you wrote (in english) clearly. CFA level III is not some writing competition. As long as you answer the questions correctly, you will be fine.
