So I took the prep class from the local society in LA last year, took the level I in June and failed. Ive been studying alot recently and have completed 2/5 of the Schweser books, econ and fixed income/options. I have read 1/4 of the ethics- but coming from a compliance background its not difficult.

Im slow on quant, and fsa. My question is, will i have enough time to prep for the exam?? Or should i wait until june, i need to know asap what i want to do since i need to register.

Regards,

audibmw,

it is very difficult to answer. Depends on You. What do You think? You wouldn't ask that ,if You are sure You can't do that. Am I right? How familiar You are with quant? This is not so difficult part. You can finish that very quickly. Fsa is a bit tricky if You are not familiar with this topic. You have to memorize a lot of ratios. There is logical explanation for each ratio, but You have to understand financial statements...

If I were You, I would try to pass exam. To be able to complete anything in life, You have to BELIEVE You can do that.

This is my (realy) friendly advice to You.

How close do you think that you were to passing? If you reatined a lot of the material and just need to focus on a few areas then I think its worth a shot. Only you can answer the question, especially since you've gone thru it and know what's ahead.

The other important factor is that the Dec exam will cover the exact same LOS that you studied, but there will be revisions for June.

i have a little knowledge of accounting but dont have a stron math background. is ~70 days enough to learn fsa and quant??? is there a book other then the rec text that can clearly explain and convey the los???

Dude, so let 2time get this straight... Of course, I am assuming that you studied prior to taking the exam last June.

Come December, you will have had close to (or maybe more than) a year to study for the exam and you're still wondering if you should take it or postpone until next June? All this contemplation with yet another 2 1/2 months to go?

Here's a tip for you... Go get l@id - or do whatever you have to do to build your confidence PRIOR to the exam. If you don't think you can pass after all that studying, then you might as well quit now.

Anyone can pass this exam, but it takes confidence and effort.
