It was Hugh Gallagher, who used this humor essay to win a scholastic writing contest in I believe the mid 90's. It was not actually an admission essay, although apparently he did submit it to a few schools as a joke as well. Based on these credentials he actually did go on to study as a writer at NYU (on a legit application), then promptly flopped as a writer after a few misguided attempts. Apparently he was one of those star talents that just lacked what it took to go pro, mostly in development.

I remember a high school teacher of mine reading this essay, saying it was real. I would love to go back and right him, who knows how many kids he misguided by now.
