American University MSF

judging from one Booth guy I know who needs written instructions to open excel and does single-digit addition with a pocket calculator, the notion that Booth MBA=quantitative is rather wrong. the guy is smart in other ways though. but the strength of U of Chicago’s finance/econ faculty should not be used as a measure of Booth’s quantiative focus

While you guys are discussing about MSF program, can someone tell me how is CMU MSCF regarded?
Some claim that CMU is the best for MSCF, it may as well be true, but I sense some flaw in their reasoning. As far as I know, CMU is the only school who offers MSCF program then how can they be the best or how can they not be the best?

I just implied that from what mar350 said. I’m not saying that’s the way it is.
The only information I’ve got about Booth is what you guys have said here. I knew University of Chicago is a big name, but not whether Booth was related or just another school from Chicago. So I’m not stating any facts about it, but just asking.

Are you still taking classes? If so, maybe we can meet in person. I’m taking a class on Wed night and another one on Friday night.

How about DePaul?

I’m looking at MSFs and was looking at the programs in Europe (IE, ESADE, IESE in Spain and some of the program in the UK). Top firms hire at these schools but mostly for Europe, what do you guys think are the chances of landing a good job in the US? I’m sitting for the CFA Level I next June.

I am actually not a student. I just spoke to a few students for information purpose because I was applying rd1. Absolutely loved my visit @ Booth and just turned in my app last week.
