Analyst trainee position @ Goldman, Merill Lynch etc

Hi All,

I am candidate for CFA level 1 for Dec 06. I have no prior Finance or Business education and no finance experience. My undergraduate degree is in Computer Science.

Now, here is what I want to do. I want to get into the Analyst Trainee programs that companies like Goldman Sachs, Merill Lynch and others offer. Basically I want to make a career change and want to start from a company where I can get on the job training. Is it doable? I have heard that the top firms only entertain fresh graduates from top B schools.

I am in Connecticut. So, moving to NYC is not an issue. I am 30 years old (may be too old for what I am looking for)

I have not started the application process yet. Just trying to get a feel from you folks.

all the firms you have just listed are the top ones.......you won't get hired unless you're downright exceptional.......
