I have been a CFP for a couple of years. I can't remember exactly what the investment section was like on the CFP exam because my brain is still packed with level 1 CFA stuff, but it will provide the basics.
The CFP exam dealt much more with how all the pieces interacted....how investments affected taxes and insurance coverages and estate planning, ect.
The CFA exam is more focused and level one is more piecemeal in my opinion. It is my understanding that this changes at level 2 and 3.
If you really want to learn you might find it fun to prepare for the exam. At least until the last month, then it isn't so fun.
Neither is the wait for results.
Good luck.
