My due day is 5/3. Not sure if it’s doable…Haven’t signed up yet. Can’t imagine how I can squeeze the study time in before the exam with a new born… Anybody experienced with this situation?

Had a girl sitting in front of me last year for Level I - looked like she was ready to pop at any moment. I don’t think she look too comfortable during the day but she soldiered on unitl the end which I considered a good effort.

fk cfa, based on your name i like your attitude already and feel you will go far in this program

Don’t even consider it. You will have enough things to deal with with the new baby, no sleep, and no time to study. Especially if this is your first baby, just wait another year.

Yes here I am! But my due date is end of January. I think I’m streching it already and do not feel confident at all.. But for you, I would not consider given you wouldn’t even have enough time to recover yourself to sit through the exam. I think first couple of months are the toughest when your body is trying to recover while getting no sleep. I’m trying to study now and plan to take a couple of months break after baby is born. BUT congrats on your baby and best of luck!

Thank you Cleo. My name is pretty manly. Most people won’t even think I’m a women, LOL.

Will it be better another year later ? Not sure if I will ever have the time to study after the kid…

Thank you seerajene. Good luck for the study and the baby too!
It is hard to be a women and a CFA test taker!

We had twins in January and I gave up on level 2 studying then and didn’t sit for the exam. I haven’t regretted it, given how things went for us the first few months after the babies were born. I just started studying again for 2012 level 2 and for me it is much easier now than it would have been then. I think the big thing is you are still adjusting to the new way of life especially only after 1 month. Sleep of course is an issue plus the baby needs a lot of time with you and then you have to squeeze in all the rest of your life when the baby is asleep. I’m sure it can be done by someone who has a lot of help at home and is very disciplined, but I personally don’t think it would be worth the stress right away. Plus there are a million other things that could come up that you can’t plan for both before and after delivery. It won’t be easy with a 1 year old either but I think it will still be better. Having one less thing to worry about I think will be worth it. Best wishes on the new baby!

Thank you so much for the input, mhhelle. I have no idea what my life would be like after the baby, since this is my 1st one.
Glad that I haven’t registered yet. I started studying a little bit. I probably will read my baby books instead. Well, hopefully I can get this thing done before I retire, LOL.
