I guess I haven't taken any exam for a long time (> 5 years); got super anxious the night before. Failed to have a sound sleep. Guess only had 2 to 3 hours of sleep. Didn't affect much the second day though. Anybody else?

I slept 1 freakin hour, 1 !! I was just thinking about a zillions things but not really because I was nervous.
I was really pissed about it because i had studied a lot and i hope i didn't fail because of lack of sleep (ie: falling into every trap possible)
I was a zombie on the morning part even after a very strong coffee and just plain out tired for the PM.

sorry to hear that Sims. that's what happened to me the night before my biggest game in high school... my dad gave me brandy to knock me out. took me a while to learn to handle the pressure.

Don't feel bad about it. I wrote the December exam, I got about 2 - 3 hours of sleep. Unfortunately on the day, 5 min into the exam there was a power outage and CFAI rescheduled the exam for the next day. Just my luck, most of the hotels were already booked because there was a convention in town, had to downgrade to shady hotel. Just so happen there was a hockey game in town and there was a party in the hotel. I got two nights of no sleep. Maybe that explains the fail.

bartok, whoa that is bad luck. I guess you were in montreal for the exam. That`s where i just took it too, i wish there was another power shortage so i could of went home to sleep.

I stopped studying at 9:00 pm sharp, and I went to bed at 10:00 pm, satisfied with my preparation level. I was not caffeinated at all, and my nerves were completely calm and worry-free. Even then I did not sleep until 2:30 pm and got up at 6:00, before even the first alarm went off!

This world is a strange place (or is it the inside of our heads?)

took OTC sleeping pills and got ~6 hours sleep. Had to do the same in college before football games otherwise the anxiety would keep me up all night.

I wanted to sleep at 10pm but couldn't sleep - i wasn't thinking about the exam or the questions, just could. not. sleep. Slept after midnight and got up at 4:30. Yeah, I know. Red Bull helped me for the AM session, but not in the PM session. Oh well...

I went to bed at 11:00 pm and could catch some light sleep for a couple of hours in between. I was too sleepy during my afternoon exam and it became increasingly difficult for me to concentrate :(

not ONE minute of sleep...

I stayed up the entire time tossing and turning in bed... never had anxiety problems before. This was the wierdest experience I've ever had. Didn't want to take sleeping pills so I stay alert all day.

I didn't want to get my nervous system too edgy so I had only half a coffee from dunkin donuts... a nice shower in the morning and 2 pills of panadol to take care of my headache apparently worked just fine. I only started feeling the headache again 30 mins before the afternoon session was going to end. Thank God I was done by that time! Reviewed a few questions which I was hesitant about ... and that was it!

I have to say... quite an experience!

went to bed at 7pm the night before...woke up at 7am the next morning. My good friend Tylenol PM does the trick everytime.

slept like a baby, only an exam at the end of the day :) The day I pass the CFA LI my life would not have changed at all since the day before, so no pressure.

Thank god for Ambien- I was knocked out by 9:30. I would have been totally screwed without it.

I did. Went to bed at 10, woke up at 5, could not have good rest then......... I felt totally trashy in the a.m. section (even I did well and fast). I guess it was normal to be nervous~~

you will have fun hearing my story on that:
being a poor student, i decided to cut costs by booking a cheep hostel in a shared room and betting on my best luck not to have troubles. So what happens, quite according to Murphy's laws, i get a stereo attack of snorting roommates on both sides of my bed! Thus I manage to get max 2 hours of proper sleep.
At about 6:30 in the morning, a guy, dead drunk, comes to the room and starts trying to get his clothes off to sleep...it takes him a while. So then I decided to take a conservative approach to the situation and get the hell out of there in order to prevent the unfortunate event of that person throwing up on my backpack and thus messing up my important CFA documents.
Ah well, after i got some breakfast and 2 coffies, I was in a relatively good shape for the exam. I could also get a final glance through the formulas.
I guess the moral of this story is: do not save up on a proper accomodation, if you have to travel to another town to take the exam :)

I got a strep throat 4 days before the exam!! to top it all, i took sleeping pills on fri nite and still got 0 sleep! absolutely zilch! antibiotics+fever medicine+zero sleep...it was not very pretty!

exam day and the day before were blurry for me. I had to travel to do my exam.

when i reached the hotel, i thought "yeah, let me sleep for an hour or two", however, to my LUCK there was a band playing "Every Friday!!" and even though the noise wasn't dramatic, i just couldn't stop paying attention to the songs they were playing.

so after an hour spent in bed, i finally realized that I should get up and study, but again, couldn't! I just didn't want to read another word about ethics, econ, accounting, taxes, leases, bonds, options, futures, equity markets.. etc.. etc.. etc..............!

so i just read a little from the secret sauce "Great stuff" and took my sleeping pill and went to bed at around 11pm. woke up at 6am i think! i almost had a heart attack before the exam, my vision wasn't focused and i was freaked out! I thought i wouldn't be able to concentrate in the exam. but, thank god, all went well, but who am i 2 say, we'll see in JULY :)
