Is anyone leaving the program if you fail?

Yes. Not that I am afraid of failure, just spent too much time studing for it and if I fail then I am not sure where to improve.
how many hours, roughly , did you spend studying?

Exactly feel like that right now. But was higher for L1, I told myself that If I failed L1, then the CFA program wasn’t for me. However passed L1 with a decent score. For L2 the pain of failing can make me surrender but I have a strong commitment with this so I would retake 1 more time. Just 1 more.

500+ hours easy. Feel like outdid L1 studies by a factor of 3.
Still have a good feeling about July 26 though :)

i failed L1 in Dec 14 and crushed it in June. The only reason i didn’t care about failing is that my son was born late October that year and i literally only managed to put in less than 50 hours for the exam. But for LII, i did put in waaay more than 300 hours and even if i end up failing, i’m not dropping out, learned a lot and i know it will be worth it.
@Krokdilizim i’m rooting for you my friend, been following your posts and i wont be surprised when you pass.

Did you make it in 4 months? I passed L1 in 2014 december and didn’t join the June 2015 for L2, so I studied almost 11 months for L2 2016. I didn’t feel much stress.

during the 50 hours for Dec 2014 i only did the official mock and kept going back to the books and reading. but after sitting for the exam and seeing the real thing i knew what i had to do, scheweser videos EOCs and 4 mocks and i was golden.
I did 9 months for LII, maybe i’m dumber than the average candidate but it really was stressful.

There are people that prefer to study 14 hours a day for 4 months, I prefer to study 2 hours a day on average for 10 months.

Failing would be the best thing for my personal development but gawd I hope it doesn’t happen. Def will stay on the merry-go-round til I pass it.

Agree with you on the second bit. I am not completely sure of dropping out if I fail though.

Don’t they have a job,family,gf etc

I was studying 4m 8 h per day by average each and every day. I had started study just after L1 in December so I had been studying since July 1st last year till June this year in continuity. It was extremely hard to adjust all the work and family duties to such pace. Failing of any exam is always one of possible outcome so one could be prepared.

I feel the same which is why I have some comfort. Nothing wrong with failing - it’s quitting you should fear. I looked myself in the mirror after the exam and knew there was nothing more I could have done to pass. This has given me some comfort. If I fail I fail but I’m not quitting.

If I failed I am almost definitely done. I don’t have any interest in studying for L2 again in order to get a few more questions right. I already do the same type of L2 thinking at my job, so there is very little brain-type benefit for me. No vale la pena. Probably best to just cut my losses. I learned a lot, pass or fail.
If I passed, I will probably continue. But I am not 100% sure. My employer paid for the fees and review materials, so I will need to repay them if I don’t get the charter. it wouldn’t be the only factor, but it isn’t nothing for a working class bloke like me.
As for the Peruvian and Croation fellows, I can spare you any concern you may have. You guys passed. The exam was way easier than questions you guys were answering on here. I am not worried for you two at all.

“No vale la pena”… great song… applies to many things in life…
