Hi. I m seeking your guidance w.r.t. investigation put up on me. I gave June 2015 CFA L1 exams. On first week of July, I received a letter from CFA Institute for violation during the exam day. After the time was up, I was erasing a slightly outside oval mark of my seat number and then darkening it further. The proctor filed a violation report as: ‘He was erasing some oval and then marking the oval. He had to be called told to put his pencil down’.
Now I have to provide a reply to this letter. I do not want my result to be invalidated. Please provide guidance so that I can provide an appropriate reply to CFA Institute.I have studied hard for this exam and I do not want my results to be invalidated. Following points are in my favour:
1. Proctor 2 has not verified or supported the claim of Proctor 1.
2. A tube light in the exam room was flickering in the morning and afternoon session. It was going on and off every 2 seconds. The resulted in distraction and wasted about 15 minutes of my exam time.
3. A field in the violation report ‘Identify all the persons who observed the candidate’s conduct’ has been left blank by the proctor.
4.The violation report is drwan up in pencil instead of a pen.A document made up in pencil can be ereased or edited by anybody.
5. The proctor has used the word ‘some oval’ instead of specifically identifying whether I was darkening the answer or the seat number.
Please help. I want to draft an appropriate response so that my results don’t get void. Thanks.
