Anyone else suffering from study withdrawl?

I will be trying to put at least some of the skills I gained / concepts I learned to use, while I have time (maybe with some Excel/VBA I will finally get intuitive grasp of OAS calculations).

Studying, studying…Come on guys! No entrepreneurs here? No one is thinking about doing something solid e.g.: building a start-up, investing your own money?

If they had that kind of drive, the CFA would not be necessary

I work with fixed income instruments, so it’s almost like I’m studying fixed income everyday haha. I’ll give my brain a break from studying until level 3.

I am not sure about that. Although it is generally true, but it does not hurt to know about finance. Especially if you think about the big bucks you can harvest when doing the valuation while negotiating with investors (VC)

I’m a level 1 candidate and while waiting for the results, as I don’t have any kind of practical experience, I want to develop my skills in financial modeling/valuation/corporate finance, etc. What do you suggest?

After reading your suggestions, I’m wondering in what kind of situations you use statistical packages to do financial analysis/modeling in the corporate finance field? Do you recomend some tutorial/book (applied please!)?

WayneINTJ what do you do for a living? Assuming it’s not ER or IBD, learn modeling, learn how to value companies.
And you Wayne, what you suggest to do in practical terms? Any book, …?
Thank you

I’m already studying this first aid course. anatomy and shit.

I am planning to work on a comprehensive financial analysis on a company I would like to invest in.

I’m hitting the gym again and studying for the Series 53 for work. It’s so comforting studying for something simple and straight forward. People at work are like what is wrong with me and to get a life. I tell them in no way shape or form does studying for a FINRA exam alter the way I live and me in shape equals more chicks in the pipeline for the summer!
