I would hope that if you've already committed to the school that you know whether it is a good school or not?

I know a few people from out there, if you post an email address I can try and help you further...

Decent basketball program fwiw. :)

don't know much about KU but i hear they have some sort of men's basketball program or something like that

wait- usif- aren't you from out of the country? i'm just curious... how did you decide on kansas? i know not much about that part of the country. the capital of kansas is topeka. good basketball. probably not a great place for seafood. that's about all i've got for ya.

well im a fulbright scholar and with a GMAT score of 590 that's the school i've been admitted to. i made some research on the school and it seems decent. though i'd luv to have some real life input.. my email is [email protected]

Thank you!

Tornados-->I've heared.. witches? dunno!

well, think of it like this: If you are in Kansas you are closer to Warren Buffet than wall st, NYC- which cant be a bad thing -keeps you away from the noise

My sister is a graduate of Kansas (I think it's the University of Kansas). It's a good public university with a renown basketball program and horrendous football. At the undergraduate level there are few rivalries that match the intensity of hatred between Kansas St. and Kansas. Don't know about its graduate programs. In the U.S., the University of Kansas has a fine reputation. Most large state universities with the name of the state itself in the title have good reputations (ex. University of Michigan, University of Kansas, University of Texas, University of North Carolina, Texas Tech, etc.).

If you have a choice there are of course other better schools.
Also, a good college does not necessarily have a good MBA prgram. I had my MBA from University of Dayton almost 15 years ago!.

Well, Guy, i'm pretty much stuck with this school, in other words, if i get the scholarship, its either Kansas or nothing. these are few facts i managed to gather from their site, which is quite impressive!!

this what they have to say about the -applied portfolio management- program they have to offer:

"At the KU School of Business, students enrolled in the Applied Portfolio Management Program have the opportunity to incorporate the real world into the class room. Jayhawk Boulevard and Wall Street intersect for hands-on training, networking and professional development"

"Students in Cathy Shenoys Applied Portfolio Management class won last month first place in a nationwide contest that tests students ability to manage a successful stock portfolio.

The class earned a 30 percent return on its investments during 2006, which, combined with a presentation to a panel of judges, was enough to win first place in the national Redefining Investment Strategy Education conference in Dayton, Ohio.

The KU class manages an actual investment portfolio that helps fund an annual mens basketball scholarship and an annual masters student scholarship. Alumnus Kent McCarthy donated $250,000 to start the program in 1993, and today that amount has grown to $2.4 million.

The KU class won in the hybrid category of this years competition, which means the portfolios can include a mix of stocks and derivative securities such as options. Holdings in the portfolio include a medical-device developer, a Chinese provider of organic fruits and vegetables, and a chemical company in Oklahoma."
