sorry for posting in wrong forum

three Qs

(1)is FRM has better value vis a vis PRM
(2)I want to shift career after my CFA L-II and FRM
(3)I will look for singapore or London

any comments on FRM?

I was thinking on the same lines, any experienced guys/gals around here?

I might take CAIA few years down the line as want to work for AI's like Hedge Funds. I am Business Analyst and have started studying for my PMP certification (Project Management)

I want an equity analyst(equity my passion),derivatives/risk management job
I am a Mech engg with Masters (M S/M Tech-IIT Delhi-1991) with 10 yrs non finance
want to break into finance field at the age of 36:)
My wife will easily get job in MNCs in London/Singapore
I have a good theoretical depth of capital market
will FRM and L-II help me get an entry level analyst job?
any ideas?

FRM is Financial Risk Manager or something like that.

PMP is Project Management professional.

CAIA is Charter Alternative Investment Analyst.

But CFA is the best among all.

agreed as ^
CFA is the BEST
but guys like me who are late starters in Finance,FRM adds value to resume
thats all:)
How you did cfaboston28?

Nitya I am really on border. Am one was OK but got screwed in PM one. I am hoping that I get lucky and my guesses would take me to Level II.

FSA, Ethics, AV were OK. But quants and econ took me down.

Lets see

How did you do?

FSA,Ethics ,AV are everything. So need not worry

regarding my exam,
Except economics I did fairly well(even in Econ-I wont get less than 65%)
(may be,my concentration and determination was far better as Nepal was great, weather wise.you wont believe there was no air tkt.so had to come back by road/train journey and it took me 50 Hours)
lets wait till mid july
we all will rock,surely

yaar nitya i went for PRM because of its flexibility. as a full time MBA student, i found CFA and FRM difficult to manage..

Our company has a policy of allowing risk managers to do FRM. PRM was denied last year when someone applied for it.

Don't know why exactly, apparantly internal guidelines prefer the FRM title.
