I spent months working through all the material, and completed around 1400 qbank questions over the year with an ave of 67%. Started the mocks on Sunday thinking I could complete around 10 mocks before the exams… but now find that my average over 5 schweser mock exams in only 50 - 55%! I am in total shock! My performance on the qbank suggested I was doing much better than this! I cannot believe it! What now?? No time to go back over everything again, I am in total depair! I feel like a complete failure already.

QBank vs Mocks are entirely different proposition.
Ok you took 5 mocks, what did you learn from the five mocks. Did you analyse where you made mistakes or what are your weak/strong areas? Without doing that analysis there is no point doing any number of mocks.
You have lot of time, just make sure you do this analysis and learn from it. Without this analysis my friend, the entire mock taking task becomes futile.
Good luck, you have enough time to improve yourself. No need to panic, but you need to get your act together and improve. All the best again.

The most important thing you must give yourself at this point is confidence. Nothing, not the question banks, nor the mocks, can give you a complete picture of how your performance will be.
I have friends who passed the first level while averaging 50s in their mocks and some didn’t do any mocks at all, just the question banks.
It’s not a good time to fret or doubt your performance, you’ve got to focus on the positives…fretting does nothing but reduces your performance.
At this point, i will advise you look through one or two of the mocks you’ve done and ask yourself questions like “Why did i miss this”? ….the answer will either be:
a) I don’t know it at all
b) I remember reading something similar, but wasn’t sure how the question would have come up
c) I remember reading it but not sure what it means.
If your answer falls between b and c, you can still watch some Schweser videos or some other CFA videos on youtube on that specific point. More likely than not, you will find someone explain it in a much simplified manner. You can also ask questions here, and many people will be glad to share how they think about specifc topics.
In the final night before the D day, i will simply focus on ethics and nothing else. It’s the biggest and propbably even the easiest to get right.

Chaps,
Thank you for your comments - all helpful. I am taking Sooraj’s advice and slowing up on the mocks, just completely understanding each wrong answer. I thought I was doing this before, but perhaps not. BrightStar, yes I did complete the End of Chapter questions from the CFA books (but admittedly only did this for around 80% of the material - I did not do the EOCs for Probabilities, Hypotheses, Sampling (and not surprisingly this is now one of my weak areas). Bloodline, thank you - the mocks really knock your confidence when you think you are doing ok on it and the end result after marking is below 55%. Ethics is really tricky. I did over 200 ethics questions in the Qbank with an ave mark of 77%, now in the mocks I am struggling to reach 55% in that section. Anyone would think I had not studied this material at all.
Will just try to stay positive and give it my best shot on Saturday - the worst thing will be the embarressment after all this hard work if I do not pass.

Well said Bloodline.
I actually didnt realise that you guys are just couple of days away. Absolutely, concentrate on Ethics and Equity as much as possible.
Good luck!

Vicky, Nobody can answer this for certain!
Dont worry about it right now is what I would suggest. Ethics, Equity, FRA – nail them and move to level 2. Good luck!
