Hi Gang, Well i didn’t cut it this time around. By the title you can see what happened. Any suggestion from folks who went from Band 1 to passing? Let me know your suggestions.
Thanks

What was your study “plan”?
Open the textbook. Read through them once. Do EoC and mocks.
Obviously.

nah man,
rags to riches…that’s the mentality you gotta have
band 1 to pass…got a lot of work to do ahead of you but you just gotta be able to focus and crank problems day in and day out. that’s the secret.

A Band 1 estimate should be something around anything from 0 - 45/48% on the exam? I’m guessing you didnt read some sections of the currciulum. To really stand a chance at passing, you really need to study everything.
You might not remember it all on exam day but it gives you a better chance of getting 65% + . Last year, I ignored some readings in PM and FI and paid for it with a Band 10 fail. This year, a friend of mine went into the exam without studying some subjects and it didn’t work out well either. You’re also giong to need to re-read/practice once you’re through (usually the last 2 months) as you would have probably forgotten a lot of things.

Next year will be a fresh start. I know of people who went from Band 2 one year to PASS the following year. It can be done, but realize you’re going to have to *really* step it up.

Well I failed the exam as well. I really don’t know what the circumstances are related to your fail or why you failed but I’d start with some questions that I asked myself.
Do you still want to earn the designation?
Are you willing to put in 5-7 months and/or 250-500 hours worth of study time?
Is sacrificing that much time and effort worth it to you?
If you answered yes to those questions, then I would say you should try again. Most of the people who have commented above are are either level III candidates or Chartholders, but I can tell you that you have to have a legit study plan that is efficient and complements how you learn. If you don’t have a plan, there is really no chance to pass.
Figure out what it was that you didn’t do and make plans to correct it. I had my own issues as to why, and I wrote them down and thought about ways to improve. In the end though, no matter what the issue was, you just have to sit down and grind through the material.
Good luck to you!
