Ok, so I failed band 10 this year, frustrated but not surprised, its a difficult exam and band 3 introduces a new variable the constructed responses. It’s on these where I think I fell over, I had an awful AM with 6 topics 50% or below and only one over 70% but managed to get over 70% on all but 2 of the AM sections (the one I got 50% or less was the same subject i scored over 70% in the morning).
From my breakdown of the results I don’t believe it is my understanding of the material that is lacking, I didn’t feel like I guessed any of the PM answers and although obviously my answers in the AM were mostly junk didn’t feel there was anything I hadn’t come across from my studies (apart from one small sub part), but I think it is my technique for the constructed responses.
So I am now planning for the 2017 exam and wanted to get some feedback from people who had attended the review courses (Schweser/Level Up bootcamp etc.) as to what they covered? I.e. do you think they would be of use to someone who understands the syllabus but obviously struggles with the AM answer format (I did 8 mocks, so have gone through the format myself and still obviously don’t get it). I understand everyone is different etc. etc. but what I’m looking for from anyone who has been on these courses is what is the focus of the course and how weighted are they towards the format?
