Someone can help me about band 10? Which means? It’s the worst band or I was near to pass?
This’s my exam score…

Thank you.

Wow, your breakdown looks really good, i’m sure you were on the border.
Don’t give up, go strong buddy

This is not mine but my friend’s .. Can you believe it he has passed. I think this is proof enough that Ethics matters big time.

I was band 9 last time with the 35% pass rate, so have some understanding of how it feels.
Looking at your breakdown, it seems that FRA let you down, I would really knuckle down on that, where Alternative inv and derivatives are clearly less important due to their weightings.
Having worked so hard for this the 2nd time, i actually think the knowledge gained for a solid pass will be worthwhile going forward..best of luck.

It is so terrible feeling, I fully understand you. It happened to me as well, I finished up in the band 10. In my case, I had ethics and FRA over 70% (see below)… go figure :-(
I even started thinking, if I should try with retabulation. This was my second exam, and I invested quite a lot of time. It would be so painful to go all over the process again.

We have divided the full group of failed candidates into ten approximately equal score bands. Your score band below shows how your overall score on the exam compares with all other failed candidates.
For example, if your reported score band is 1, you scored in approximately the bottom 10% of failed candidates. If your reported score band is 2, your score was within the next band width ranging from approximately the bottom 11% to 20% of failed candidates. If your score band is reported as 10, you scored in the top 10% of all failed candidates.
Performance band of your overall score among all candidates who failed the exam: 10

FSA, ethics & Quant are key to success, since they make up atleast 1/3rd of exam and some of the other remaining topics depend on them. good luck next time

I am in the same bucket.
On top of it, I have another exam in Oct (Professional Certification)
So I wan tto know this from some one who cleared it on second attempt-
CAN I CLEAR THE EXAM BY STUDYING ONLY ONE MONTH (NOV)???

Thanks guys.
Strictly speaking, Ethics, FSA e Quants are the most important areas.

Ares77, I think you are very very close. Looking at my result, I think I barely passed. I only had 3 topics over 70%, Corporate Finance, Econ, and Ethics. I usually got >90% on these topics in mock exams, and upper 60% - lower 70% on the other topics.
IMO ethics is the easiest to master. Make sure you memorize EVERYTHING in the Schweser notes on Ethics, which is not much stuff anyway. If you do that, you’ll find it easy to get >90%.
Cheer up and good luck. I’m sure you’ll pass next time, and you’ll get a jump start for Level 2.

Tanja- I am with you, this is my second time and I had FSA and Ethics too but I had only 3 topics over 70%. I hear what you’re saying about how painful it is to go through it again but knowing you’re so close and to just give up is also hard.

Anybody think that the mps was actually 70 this time?

Tanja
Definitely your score is absolute borderline, I thought my score was spoiled by FSA as it has high weight. This was the most difficult topic for me.
But you are also pushed in Band 10, so I guess its going to be tough.
Even With one of highest passing rate this time, I could not clear it. I dont know If I can do it again in Dec. This was my first attempt and I dont have a finance background and this was all new to me, so more like a last month prep, and I am sure I already forgot a major chunk of it.

Yeah it is absolutely horrible to study so much and still fail, especially with such a high pass rate, Im definately going to hit FSA hard for december:

Hsetin, adee, ares,
I hope that you do better than me those days. I feel so surpressed and disappointed, that I can’t explain. I’ve printed out the result, hang it on the wall and kept on looking and thinking where did I go wrong– . This time, I was MUCH better prepared compared to the previous exam, I was kind of sure that I will pass.
I spent hours on learning all the subjects. Those are all hours taken away from my family, my friends and my colleagues. Oh God, I am not sure if I have strength enough to go through the subjects all over again.
The worst thing is being aware that the passing rate was unusually high this time, and I was not able to go through. What a regret…
Then, I think, OK, let’s keep the brain straight and think objectively the reasoning behind the “Fail”:
- I am a non-native English speaker - so I may have misinterpreted some of the questions or answers,
- I should have spent more time on doing the tests, I spent considerably more on the readings than on the tests,
- I should have had full two weeks of the work before the exam devoted for the preparations instead of only one,
- I should have paid more attention to re-reading the LOS and keeping those in mind
Still, the fact that I went over 90 in 4 subjects, out of which 2 were FRA and ethics, and for all other I was between 51-70, really keeps me questioning, how could I not pass??????????

I think MPS is lower than 70, because I don’t think I got more than that. Not sure how they adjust for high scores on Ethics though, if that’s really what they do.

The MPS must be very close to 70% (using the 40/60/80 method) this year:
