WTF!! I put so much time on this, and got band 2, not sure what went wrong.
I read all cfa books, took good notes, did all eoc, blue boxes, samples, past exams, and schweser. I scored ok on samples and mocks, mid 60’s to 70’s. I tried to pass this at once and get it over with, then band 2… Wow…
what the hell did i do wrong? did I miss something? did you guys do something else?
I am not even disappointed, it’s rather shocking!!!

We have divided the group of candidates who did not pass into 10 approximately equal score bands. Your score band below shows how your overall score on the exam compares with the overall scores of candidates who did not pass this exam.
Your score band: 2

sorry for your lose.
I also did all the blue boxes ,eoc, notes, samples of past 5 years…everything!I failed with band 8.Feel depressing, but it happens.
Life is more than just a exam.Take it easy and try the next time.

Your matrix is not that far below passing. I think the score distribution at Level III is pretty narrow.

Wow, you got annihilated in the morning session. Did you feel like you knew the answers? Could this be a test taking method problem?

I hope you are not a victim of the infamous AM answer sheet nonsense. Band 2 seems very low based on how much you studied.
Did you feel like you really bombed it after taking the exam?
Sometimes its a matter or missing the key words in the AM. Your answer can be correct in theory but incorrect to them due to a lack of the ‘key words’ the CFA was looking for

Hey cfano1. I may have the answers why you were demolished in the morning. I am entirely too broken to provide much comment here. Search my posts for bizarre results and you may receive your answers. Feel free to add to my post if you feel inclined to do so.

cfano1, that’s odd. Last year, I got 6 Qs below 50% and was in band 10… one more time means deeper understanding of the topics.

Alladin, lets do it next year…
Sometimes I would rather let CFAI fail me….

,mine band 2 too, feel very bad at this moment,
Only difference is I did.t use textbook(only notes ,same for level 1and 2)’just this time,I didn’t finish 5 notes,even once ,didn’t,t pay much time,one month…….
but,I absolutely felt better than this band 2’
speakless now,
will fight for next and start early, sometimes, failures can make us stronger

Ok–Now that I can speak again, I’m in the same boat. I put in a significant amount of time, did mocks, etc and thought I was more prepared for this exam than any other. I knew I had trouble in the AM. I only got halfway through Q8 and didn’t do any of Q9, but I was fairly confident in what I had put down for the other seven questions. Also, my handwriting got progressively worse, but I think that’s the case with everyone. I don’t think I answered the questions in the wrong areas especially having scored in the mid-range on two sections. I think the way I labeled the answers was messy and that will be something I’ll work on next year. Also, I believe I’ll use a pencil. I did marginally worse than expected in the PM, but I think even with an average AM it would have been enough Especially with 50% of PM > 70%.
Anyway it was a band 4:

Sorry to those who did not pass. It is a horrible experience. I was band 3 in 2010. I skipped last year (started studying but realized in Feb that I would not be able to put in the hours). I passed this year. The difference for me this year was actually cracking the CFAI books and focusing on the blue boxes and EOC Q’s.

GPM, im in the same boat, but i got more destroyed in AM session .. 6 questions with <50! i thought i nailed individual and insitutional but apparently i messed up big time. I don’t think i wrote in the wrong place because i got 2 above 70 and 1 in between. Totally shocking … :(
However, I guess we should wait for AM to be released by CFAI at least we can know what went wrong since im sure i wrote in the correct place.

I failed again. I want to puke. I actually don’t know what I am doing wrong here. last year band 6 and now band 3. I have put in a massive amount of study hours. The thing I hate the most is that I cannot learn from my mistakes. You do not get any specific feedback with the results. How is it possible that some of our AF friends can get this in 18 months. Or am I just clueless.
