Ok,
Let’s see if I can vindicate that previous thread, which Joey called “not interesting” with this point. It’s pretty simple really, so even Hooker should be able to contribute and any moaning and complaining from Numi that he hasn’t reached puberty yet will be drummed out by serious discussion. So, Barrons or The Economist, which is better?
Willy

The Economist
Barron’s is good, but the economist gives a unique world perspective that i find very valuable.

Sorry Hooker, too transparent. I saw that one coming from a mile away….yawn..zzzz.
Willy

Barrons is aight..nothing special…economist gives a more global touch and covers not just finance but other “important” issues too…which is why i prefer economist..
Since we are on the comparision topic, I prefer FT to WSJ too…
But nothing beats National Geographic Magazine:)…damn the world looks so much better through their eyes…

I’m with Virgin. Neither one has good pictues and they both use hard to understand words.

Barrons is kind of unique. It’s a timely, relevant, weekly mag focused solely on the investment biz. If you’re a stock picker like me, Barrons is indispensable, although Alan Abelson makes my head spin. If you are a global macro guy, the Economist would win hands down. Unfortunately, the economist has this problem:

Economist has the best picture captions of any relevant publication.

dip your face in boiling water for a second, or your whole body for 5 seconds

This is like one million times better than the “CFA vs MBA” thread…..
actually, no it isn’t

WillyR being capable of “serious discussion” would have to be a sign that the apocalypse is coming

Yeah numi, he already has a girl who brings him coffee. That makes 2 of us.
Willy

Man, you have girls bring you coffee? Makes me realize that for four years I was on the wrong side of that trade!
