I’ve seen people (charter holders) teaching CFA on weekends, 3-4 hrs every week (on weekends) and pretty good money.
Some (charter holders) also take 1-2 lectures every week in lower ranked B-School, they also pay good.
How much you can draw depends on your negotiating power… but I’m sure there’s demand!

What! Is demand that low in the UK? I won’t touch that job for less than 3 times that amount. I currently earn twice that teaching for 3 hours every saturday, candidates on the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers’ s exam. (in Nigeria).

What! Is demand that low in the UK? I won’t touch that job for less than 3 times that amount. I currently earn twice that teaching for 3 hours every saturday, candidates on the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers’ s exam. (in Nigeria).
What’s up Kakane? I have absolutely nothing to offer as far as the tutoring but wanted to say congrats on passing and briefly hijack the thread.
You worked your arse off for a long time and it paid off. Nice work.
Just got back from a week of camping, fishing, boating, hiking, kayaking and it feels good to get it over with.
No surf plans just yet but hopefully in the fall. You’re heading to Portugal huh? Never surfed out there Have fun. Where in Portugal you heading?

Hi bud, good to hear from you. I completely signed off AF in May since I was hitting the books 24/7, now I’m just getting reacquainted with folks
Things are cool now that I’m done with CFA study - it was a hard road, but I’ve reached the finish line! You did too, so congrats! Plus I’ve managed to get back with my gf now that I’m not under so much pressure…life is starting to get better…if only I could get a better job…one step at a time though!
I’ve got to get back into my surfing in a big way though. Portugal was a great place to surf back in 2008, so I’m hoping to head back there in a few weeks time. Has there been much swell in San Diego lately, it was torture watching the surfcams whilst having a break from CFA - no more!

Hi bud, good to hear from you. I completely signed off AF in May since I was hitting the books 24/7, now I’m just getting reacquainted with folks
Things are cool now that I’m done with CFA study - it was a hard road, but I’ve reached the finish line! You did too, so congrats! Plus I’ve managed to get back with my gf now that I’m not under so much pressure…life is starting to get better…if only I could get a better job…one step at a time though!
I’ve got to get back into my surfing in a big way though. Portugal was a great place to surf back in 2008, so I’m hoping to head back there in a few weeks time. Has there been much swell in San Diego lately, it was torture watching the surfcams whilst having a break from CFA - no more!

RE: Demand - I doubt it’s low, more likely that I’ve no real idea on the likely hour charge.
Oal29 - so how did you go about getting set up with the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers? I mean, did you have a contact on the inside (friend/former work colleague) or just write to them?

No one is going to pay some random dude $200 an hour for CFA tutoring. You need some sort of reputation - either through consistently training people who pass the exams (and people somehow finding out about this), or through affiliation with a reputable test preparation company.

$200 an hour, wow!
I was thinking more alone the lines of £25-35 per hour ($40-$50). Anything more than that will come in time as I build up a reputation of being a half decent tutor…
