I seek input on my two top choices to acheive fiannce career goals in USA. Which is better and what else do consider for?
CFA Pros: Lots of material. Can do from home. Many people all over word know certification. Cons: No teacher, just a bunch of thick books. Expensive for no teacher. No college recognition that employers yearn for.
Graduate Classes: Will take three or more to match CFA.. I think USA employers will love grad classes to show my knowledge and dedication. I want to enroll at Harvard, but it is very expensive, so I am looking at other schools. I see the University of Phoenix advertised a lot, so I think that is good option. Many USA people study there and has good reputation.
My goal is to get HB1 Visa and job in big bank like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, or Lehman Brothers.I am not expert on USA people and culture, but I visited Orlando as a child and watch of lot of USA TV (I love Melrose Place and Dukes of Hazard and listen to Brintey Spears music).. So I do know USA people this way, which will help get big job and interpersonal skills with USA people. And maybe I get USAA grlfriend one day….haha, but my mother would not approved.
Besides, sorry for long post. CFA sounds good but with just books and no teacher I don’t know if going to US for school is better for me. Thnak you!!

I would totally go with this option.

That, and applying for a job at Lehman Brothers. I think that company has a bright future.

UoP has solid network. Know many who got a job as a portfolio manager right after graduation.

Thank you. I hope that my question inspires other to make moves to better their lifes. Much is possible with a good plan and help along the way.
I don’t understand some of the other posts. My English is not great. I take English and culture classes to get better. I practice “small talk” (How is weather, Yankees win again, etc…) but still miss a lot.

Great to hear!! I watched their youtube videos again and again and get more excited each time! I even translated for friends so they can see .Thanks.
Does any one thing CFA books are just as good, even though no teacher or college credit?

You can attend class if you decide so during your exam preparation. On the other hand, simply you may participate in AF discussions and here you can find some virtual teachers and many virtual peer colleagues.

I am so happy. My future looks very bright with education and good job. And I now have USA friends from this forum! I am so happy I posted my query.
If any of you live in New York City, can I come and stay in your spare bedroom while I study and get job? When I get job I move, and maybe someday you can stay with me too?
I hope you like dogs because I have two. They are nice and friendly, except Xixao, who sometimes panic when he gets startled by noises like car horn or door slam. But as long as he knows who boss he no bite except for play.
Also, my culture class tell me that there are many gay people in USA and I do not judge. My friend has co-wroker who knows someone that people think are gay. It is just rumor but may be true. So no problem with me. But please no peek when I am in shower.
Thank you so so much. This is wonderful board!

You may visit me on Virgin Islands instead NYC. No gays here just little bears…

Did you really move to VI or is it just a disguise?

First you have to become merican , I suggest you go to some southern states pick up a lil accent , learn to become a true merican . Also learn to shoot and chew tobacco, those finance folks like these types of stuff, there are many gay people on this foum and you can befriend them so you won’t have to pay for room and stuff.
