Hypothetically speaking, say some guy, John Doe, is diagnosed with availability bias, and currently drives a Toyota Camry. He’s driven a Camry for many years, but he’s talking to his friend, Jesus DeCristro CFA, who writes for Motortrend Magazine who tells him about the merits of an Acura RLX and suggests that John switch to an Ac RLX which would fulfill his driving needs. They live in the country of Phuckistan, where Acura is not as well known as Toyota for some reason, but is well lauded and respected nonetheless.
Do you think John will take Jesus’ advice and switch to an Acura?

Yes availability bias is cognitive and can be treated. Can’t think of another reason why he would switch though.

I’ve been to Phuckistan and almost no one drives Acuras. So I think he’ll stick with the Toyota.

if the guy is a billionaire you have zero chance to make him switch.
if the guy is not a billionare, and you’re talking to him, you are the zero (period)

with cognitive biases you never adapt if hes a millionaire you would adapt/moderate but for this question he would switch by educating him with proper mathematical tools ;)

I agree but what if the question state this is an emotional bias for the client?

if its an emotional bias and the person is 1-wealthy and has 2-low standard of living risk then we have to adapt to the clients bias because he can afford to…
