So I'm comparing different options. I'm interested in buying a blackberry (especially a Pearl), does anyone have one? Any suggestions on which one to get? I'd consider the Pearl but T-Mobile is the only one offering it and their minutes don't roll over I think...as opposed to cingular heh

You know somethin? I was in the same boat as you a couple of months ago. Blackberry is a great phone to own, and RIMM the maker of blackberry is an even better stock to own BTW!!!

The downside of all these? You will soon realize that you are not the million dollar hot shite, instead your boss will be emailing you .xls spreadsheets asking you to do sensitivity analysis, stress tests or whatever boring stuff you can do with a blackberry. Its an excuse to work 24/7.

I prefer golf.

Our CEO doesn't have a Blackberry. He doesn't even turn his phone on when he's out of the office.

Digressing from OP's topic and just commenting on the Blackberry phenomenon. Corporations have embraced Blackberrys enthusiastically because they get to use you in your "free" time. And since most of us have our sense of self worth, importance and power tied to our work, we give them this leash voluntarily. I think it is kind of stupid; if we were that important to the company that they needed 24/7 access to us they should be paying us more.

Now there are few people who indeed need the BB - people who are on the road a lot.
