atleast You can accelerate your scoring in Quanta and other subjects,I have no edge:)
so keeping my finger crossed

Hello everyone...

My goodness... did i see a 90 score out here??!!!

surely hope all those who get 90% and above are considered outliers and are NOT included in the curve!

Anyway... great job for those ... congrats...

me just got my first 80 score in book 6 exam 2 AM session

another 80%(or 80 correct Qs?)
:-))
curve seems to be getting Tougher and beyond others reach
got to quit AF and study, study, study

nitya ... 80%...;-) actually yes i couldn't believe it myself at first! but hey i'm NOT bragging... well not until i actually pass!! ;-)

at frist i thought i had gotten 78% because schweser's end of book 6 wrong answers... i really have to say crossing to 80% has made me feel just a bit more comfortable especially that i finished 20 mins ahead this time... i'm not sure if anyone else felt that this session is a bit less time consuming than the 1st two...

I have just taken first exam and scored 68%. But I finished that test in 2.5 hours. I think I am good time wise but accuracy wise sucks.

Good for you. How is the finance market in Lebanon?

I used all the 3 hours, just finished on time, and left no time for checking.

I'm still in the 60s as well... going through some of the material I scored badly on now and doing the BSAS test exam.

80% is quite a long way, though... wish I could make that kind of statements as well with three weeks to go!

Main goal now is to get all sections in the 70+ region. That should kill the bunny.

Schweser Book 6:

#1 - AM 101/120 - 84.2%
#1 - PM 94/120 - 78.3%
#2 - AM 99/120 - 82.5%
#2 - PM 100/120 - 83.3%

CFAI Exam I - 52/60 - 86.7%

The first 2 schweser mocks I ran over by 10 minutes or so. The second two I finished on time.

Is the CFAI an easier test? Is it just worded more clearly? Is it a better representation of the actual exam?

I am trying to gameplan... I am not going to do book 7. I think I may take a few days off and then take an hour or two each night, re-read and study areas that are giving me trouble. I think I will take two more CFAI mocks this weekend. There have been a lot of posts about the BSAS. I may look into that online. I plan to sit down on Sat the 26th and do the book 6 exam 3 am and pm in a dress rehersal. Then I will take a few days off the last week to review all the questions missed on these mocks, cram the last of the formulas, concepts and relationships and get my gameface on.

I do need to refresh though, I am running out of steam. I haven't really gotten my a-- kicked on a mock and I am worried that is costing me focus. How messed up is that - If you do well, that hurts your preperation?

you guys are frustrating me :)! - finished book 6 yesterday and had scored between 62 and 72 (gradually improving) in all the exams but it took me an average of 5 hours per exam as I really tried to figure out the solutions and not just skip or guess any questions...let's see how it goes with book 7 next weekend....anybody else taking more than 3 hours so far or should I start to get worried :)?

I am with you here. These guys on the forum are insane >.<

i've gone over maybe 10 minutes max on tesst. (got 71,69 and 75 on book 6 and 69 and 63 on book 7) i think it would be wise to start testing yourself under test conditions now. it was probably good for you to take the extra time to get the stuff down. now you have to drill yourself on time discipline. good luck

Agreed on the testing w/ time constraints, the hardest part for me is to move on from a question that I could not solve quickly and hope I have time to come back at the end. It's too easy to spend 5 mins on a question and not even realize it. A few questions like that and you're digging yourself a hole.

Stupid question maybe.. what's book 7??? I only got a book 6 in the schweser package..

"Book 7" was an optional book for purchase from Schweser w/ additional practice exams. It's not actually called Book 7 on their site.

Hey all, just found this forum and have been reading through all of these posts on book 6 scores.....can anyone tell me what you think you need to be scoring the week before the test to feel comfortable that you're going to pass? I.e., how do these book 6 exams compare to the real thing?

Good question. What do you guys think? Especially those that have taken the CFAI exam before. Does a 75-80 avg. on book 6 put you in good shape for the test?

What I understand from colleagues... absolutely. With a 70%+ score you get the picture, with an 80% score you don't just get the picture but almost the entire puzzle.

I can't tell you for sure until we get the results though.. that's the one that really matters.

I have done the first exam just this week of book 6 and got 77.5% on both parts, so was feeling good, then went down to 70% with the first schweser online exam, which I thought was much harder, especially the PM session. I wish I knew what score we have to get, I assume above 75% is a safe bet, but maybe 70% will do - any thoughts? Also, I did do one test on the CFA website and did only 73% - very little calcs and also I thought there were very many nitpicky questions - stuff that wasn't even in schweser at all. Kind of ridiculous stuff like the name of the broker who does this or that - crazy useless info. Also, anyone know how to get the responses to this forum emailed to you, or do you just have to logon and find it every time.

good luck to us all, this is definitely the hardest and most boring thing I have ever done.

c

I don't agree with you on the boring part... FSA is not exactly my favourite part but in a weird way I enjoy going through most of the material.

You'll have to try and score 70+% in whatever test you do and you're fine. I have been given the advice to try other tests apart from Schweser as well to get used to a different kind of questions so doing the CFA test or the one from BSAS must be a good idea.
