Hey Everyone,

I Just regeistered for the CFA Level 1 exam for December. I was wondering if the books they offer on the CFA website are the best books? Does anybody recommend anything else. If so, then why?

Hope to talk to all the members of CFA level ! forum regularly. If anybody would like to form study groups, Im from Toronto. Please let me know.

Thanks.

If you are new to finance, use both schweser & CFA reading materials.

However, if your familiar with material, use only Schweser/stella.

CFA material is more in depth and explanatory, where as these reading materials are more concise and to the point.

Thanks CFAHouston for the information. Yes I do not have a Finance background. Infact, I am Graduating with a BSc this spring. But I do work with a Canadian Bank called TD Canada Trust as a Personal Banker.

Why do I need the Schweser as well if I order the CFA reading materials. Are the CFA materials not good enough? as you stated, CFA materials are more in depth already, then why get the other readings too? Just wondering.

Thank you for your advice.

Well, first you'll have two materials to reference. If you don't understand something in CFA materials, schweser might be right to the point and consice.

Also, the materials that CFA tells you to read sometimes goes beyond the scope Schweser can pin point to exactly what you need to know.

Third - Schweser has more questions. Also, if you find yourself finished with CFA reading, then you can review off of Schweser.
