Howard Marks - The Most Important Thing. Great book on thinking big picture
I also thought “The Most Important Thing” was a good book. Marks also has a good lecture on Youtube as well.
If you haven’t already read it, “A Random Walk Down Wall Street” is a classic.

From Wall Street to Main Street, John Brooks, longtime contributor to the New Yorker, brings to life in vivid fashion twelve classic and timeless tales of corporate and financial life in America

An accessible look at the art of investing and how to adopt the practices of top professionals
What differentiates the highly successful market practitioners—the Market Wizards—from ordinary traders? What traits do they share? What lessons can the average trader learn from those who achieved superior returns for decades while still maintaining strict risk control? Jack Schwager has spent the past 25 years interviewing the market legends in search of the answers—a quest chronicled in four prior Market Wizards volumes totaling nearly 2,000 pages.

Zero to One - Thiel
Thinking, Fast and Slow - Kahneman (Unless you’ve had enough Behavioral stuff)
Outliers - Gladwell
The Power of Habit - Duhigg
These are all enjoyable and quick reads, you could knock these out by mid-August.

Fooled by Randomness - Talib
Leaders Eat Last - Simon Sinkey (more of a person help book)
The King of Oil - Daniel Ammann

David and Goliath. Underdogs, misfits and the art of fighting giants
Malcolm Gladwell
it has “misfit” in the title

I’m reading berkshire’s annual letters from inception. kindle book is a few dollars. pretty good deal.
i would also recommend seneca - on the shortness of life

A random walk down wall street is just a waste of time if you are actively managing

^ I find it worthwhile to read the opposite argument to things to gain insight.

IMO the 2 most important books to read for any investor :
- Random Walk
- Intelligent Investor
It all starts with those two books, both presenting their side of the story. Doesn’t matter what you think about one side or the other, you HAVE to hear both sides.
On a side note, I am currently reading Zero to One. I am not so impressed.

In my opinion one book everybody in the field of finance/investment should have read is:
“Against the Gods: The Remarkable Story of Risk” - Peter L. Bernstein
http://www.amazon.com/Against-Gods-Remarkable-Story-Risk/dp/0471295639/r...
Absolutely fundamental and fascinating journey through the world of finance, risk and investment.
If you are more interested in finance on a macro level I recommend you this one:
“Manias, Panics and Crashes: A History of Financial Crises” - Charles P. Kindleberger

http://www.amazon.com/Manias-Panics-Crashes-History-Financial/dp/0230365...

Both books are a must in my opinion.
Best,
Oscar
