So CFC jumps 10% today after an article in the WSJ says an "unnamed" investor thinks Warrent Buffett "might" be interested in acquiring parts of CFC. Does anyone else think this is a classic pump and dump? I mean, sure, I could see Buffett buying some mortgages on the cheap but the article seemed kind of odd.

"unamed" investor == a random guy posted on the Yahoo Message Board? ;)

is Rupert already influencing dow jones? a market moving article based on a rumor on the front page of money & investing and then a cheap shot cover article on Cramer (employee of NBC) on the cover page of Barron's? I have to say Cramer had a good comeback, questioning that his tv show is worthy of a cover story considering all that is going on in the markets right now.

Your last question is similar to the complaint people had when Paris Hilton went to jail was the headline news.

I guess most of us don't like to take life too seriously. ;)

lol. good one.
i was a bit skeptical when i head about that as well. from what i've read about his investment style, i dont think he is into distressed companies and would be more apt to try to get a good deal on a solid company that he understands. could be wrong, but that is what my gut is telling me.
