Calculator input help

Hi,

Have a couple of very basic(I'm sure!!) doubts as to how to use my calci(HP12C)

- when I want to calculate the summation of PVs how do I do that?Haven't found that in the schweser guide...

- any body have any idea of how to input fractions as powers? The only way I know of is using the yx key....but what if the power is a fraction??Which I've come across more than a couple of times....

5 ^ 1/4 = 5 enter .25 yx = 1.49535

Since the inverse key is next to the exponent key, for 5^1/4, I like

The HP manual that comes with the calculator seems good to me.
If you skip the programming section, not more than a couple hours of reading.
