CALCULATOR TIPS & TRICKS

Very important link indeed for those who doesn’t know how to use the calculator - it is more important though to get decent amount of practice than only learning how to use the functions up there

I started studying about a week ago, and the most frustrating part of Quant was trying to learn the calculator as I go. Anyone that has tried to calculate I/Y with a both a positive PV and FV knows what I’m talking about. I just watched the first 3 sequences and I think this is great.
Thank you for sharing!

bapswarrior,
Thank you for the link. It is very informative.

I really wish I found this site first, I would have saved a lot of time learning the basics!
Can AF put a stick on this to keep it at the top? This is something new students to the CFA will really find helpful.
Thanks -
baps

Just one basic thing about the TI BA plus. Just start to use mine. In my old Casio calculator, I was used to a shortcut for long number, like to 50,000,000. Instead of typing everything, I did 50 exp 6. Then 50,000,000 * 23,000 is quickly 50exp6 * 23exp3. What is the equivalent of this shortcut for the TI ? I checked and just saw the yx which is not the same thing. Thanks
