It doesn’t make sense to me that once you pass level I you become a level II candidate.
If you think about it, what happens once you pass level III? You don’t automatically become a CFA charterholder yet you are still technically a Level III Candidate, same as all those people who failed Level III until you get your charter.
I think the CFA Institute needs to rethink this one…
 
you’re not a candidate unless you register to sit for the exam. until you pay to sit for the next level, you can only state that you passed Level X. For those that pass all 3 levels but not a charter holder, then it is only “Passed Level III,” no longer a Level III candidate after the passing.
