Career Advise - Some Perspective?

Here’s a general statement that applies to a lot of the finance world (not all of course):
If you are comfortable with: biannual layoffs, random layoffs, headline risk leading to layoffs, and/or being worked to death and still screwed at bonus time, finance is great!
Otherwise, stay away from finance.

Always have a backup plan, i.e. several grand saved up for example if you were to be laid off or wish to bail out when being worked to death. Problem solved, not that hard to save up that money with the salaries in Finance.
