Central bank and excessive currency appreciation

In LOS 12.n, it is mentioned that central bank is worried about excessive currency appreciation. How about excessive currency depreciation? Shouldn’t it be an objective for CBs as well?

They are both concerns. Excessive currency depreciation will lead to high inflation which is targetted by most central banks.
