Happy Friday Everyone! I have been reading about how they grade the exam, and the information I have found thusfar is fairly vauge. I have read some posts that suggest shooting for an 80 or above on the exam, while others have said you only need to worry about scoring 70 or higher on practice exams. I am using Kaplan Schweser. What score should I be shooting for on the practice exams and large qbank quizzes that would be comparable to the pass rate on the Exam? Obviously I am trying to get the score as high as possible, but I would just like to know if > 70, or > 80, or some other number for the Kaplan Schweser quizzes/tests is the equivalent to the pass rate for the exam. Thanks for all your help and good luck studying!

The general understanding is that if you get a 70%+ on the exam, you’ll be just fine. That being said, aim for 100%. I don’t think anybody stops studying just because they get 71% on a mock exam.

i sometimes get annoyed or amazed i can’t figure out what i am feeling, when people ask “what grade i should be aiming when doing my (practice) exam?”
i mean… don’t we all aim for 100%?
Say you score 80% on your practice exam, are you going to stop studying altogether? And if you know you only need 70%, can you actually control your brain activity and and only aim to score 70% or are you going to try your very best anyway?
I just don’t know what people get from a question like this.
Sorry, i hope i didn’t offend anyone…

The CFAI mocks are the best gauge. If you get better than 70% on the CFAI mocks, you’re likely in good shape. The Schweser mocks are good preparation but in terms of actually gauguing where your at based on a score, I would focus on CFAI and not Schweser.
