CFA exam!

So… How did the exam go for you? I think the afternoon part was lengthier than the morning, but found the test to be easier than the sample mocks/schweser. Where did you take your exam?

I generally didn’t find the real exam easier than the mocks. I found FRA was easier in the real exam but thats about all. Derivatives was worded much differently than the books. Time was definetly a factor. Borderline probably
 
I thought Derivatives and Fixed Income were definitely challenging. I found this harder than mocks.
 
A mixed paper I would say.
Morning the Finance was a nightmare! Afternoon Derivatives was a UFO!
Tricky paper I would say. Ethics what to say so unethical..lol..
Borderine for sure..

Agreed. While the overall exam wasn’t too bad, I did find Ethics in the morning and Derivatives in the afternoon to be pretty challenging and time-consuming.
 
I was a little surprised by some of the questions. I’m obviously not going to get into specifics but I thought some less relevant stuff was tested which i did not expect.
 
I agree ishi93 i reckon CFAI really threw a curveball with this one. Could be due to the increase in the pass rate last year i dont know. Hopefully the MPS is lower this year because the exam wasn’t easy. I agree Fixed income was such a joke!
 
Calculation wise this exam was a mission. I didn’t drop my calculator for the whole 6 hours. I felt like my head was going to explode in the middle of the afternoon session.
 
Oh I forgot about ethics! AM and PM were both very challenging indeed! Did not like the wording either, I have to say that I put some random black ovals here and there! Sat the exam in Sydney and it was funny to see more Level 2 than level 1 takers. Liked the fact that it wasn’t freezing as much as when I sat level 1!

Quants? that was not so bad if yo compare to the Mock!
 
I thought PM was relatively straight forward. AM was a killer imo.
 
i had a bit of a different experience than everyone i guess.. morning was much more of a walk than afternoon which was definitely a climb for me.. we’ll see what this actually means heh
second the comment about quant i was ready to punt quant away but that was a pleasant surprise compared to the mocks

I thought the am session was tougher, probably guessed on 15 or so, but felt better in pm session. Finished both within time limits.
 
Whoever is saying the exam was easy is day dreaming! Morning session was tough compared with the afternoon session. A lot of curveball questions here and there……everything involved thinking and concept application lol !!!! However, I found ethics both morning and afternoon to be extremely easy, it took me 10 min each to clear……..
 
The exam was not great but on the other hand it wasnt too bad either. Found the morning session a lot tougher compared to the afternoon. Ethics was certainly tricky. Did expect it to be like this after seeing the CFA 2012 Mock. Had a few guesses here and there and realized i made a couple of VERY SILLY mistakes that couldve easily been avoided had I thought about it for an extra second. Annoyed that CFA would put those wrong answers as an option too. Anyway, the wait begins!

interesting i dont know about that..;/
for me duringmocks ethics was always a time shaver which helped me make up excess time for me to use in other calculation heavy sections like FRA/equity but ethics in both AM/PM were pretty draining
