CFA guideline essay questions and answers?

The institute is kind enough to post guideline essay questions and answers on the website for the lst few years.
I have started working through these and wondered how these compare to the morning session on the actual exam?
At this stage, I am finding them easier going than I anticipated.
As long as you can work out, what they are actually asking you, I have found the required answer to be concise and without some of the out of nowhere tricks I recall from L2.
I have heard so much about the dreaded morning session…….are these guidelines a similar level of difficulty?
Please don’t consider this post to be arrogant, I still have a lot to learn……it’s a bit like tasting a chilli you expect to blow your head off and it is merely hot!

Yes those are actual AM exams. They are a great representation of what you will see on the real thing.
 
Hey perdition, where is the link on the CFAI website for the past years’ essay questions? Wasn’t able to find it

What will probably surprise you is how different they appear under the stress of the actual exam day and the time you spend writing which hampers your ability to finish in a timely manner. Everything looks easier when looking at it through a stress-free microscope
 
Anybody have any idea how much the curriculum has changed between 2010 and now? In other words, will taking the 2010 exam be good practice for the 2013 exam? Or will the information have changed significantly, so we would just be wasting our time?
 
So true. Those tests are not all that hard when you’re taking them on your own – even when timed.
But on exam day, everything changes.

To go with HM and sdanalyst have actually said, the schweser guys in the videos have been saying we practise writing them ourselves in piece of paper to make sure you get them right..
Planning to do exactly that from today to end of exam now..
Its been atleast 15 years since I wrote anything for answers, its so different from circling A, B or C :) Atleast the answers give you a direction…
 
don’t waste those exams too early in your studies. There’s only five or so available and they’re valuable. The 3rd party mocks are pretty junky and lacking in subtety – do those now and save the CFA tests for the final month.

Hi can anybody tell me where are those questions? cant find them.
 
It is easier to find the exams than work through them!
Go to the CFA institute website;
Login; (username/password)
under “my CFA”;
click “exam news and information”
To the middle/right there is a section for “June 2013 candidates” with links to errata - sample exams and mock exams.
 
Thanks for the warning HM. I will do the finquiz/schweser stuff right now then..
 
Perdition, not seeing the practice AM exams. I see mocks and samples, which one is the a copy of prior exams? Also, the only thing I see is practice PM item sets, not essay questions?

Essay in the morning…pm is multi choice.
On CFA website 2010-2012 am essay questions listed as above.
The 2013 L3 mock is available on the CFA website under;
Home/candidate my cfa/ preperation toolkit/ study aids & resources/ sample & mock exams
Have a look around the website, it’s not that difficult to find.
 
Sorry, i’m just not seeing the essay questions or reference to 2010-2012 am essay questions. All i see is mocks/samples with item set only, no essay questions or past exams.
