Hi all,

Has anyone taken the sample exams (60 questions, 120 minutes, $50) on the cfainstitute website?

If so how did you think they compared to Stalla practice exams? I've done the three practice exams which come with the Stalla books and averaged around 70%. I wanted to take one of the sample tests on the cfa site but I am fvcked if I'm paying $50 for a 2 hour exam.

So what is the verdict? Are the cfa institute sample exams harder or easier than the Stalla ones? Are the Stalla ones representative?

Many thanks in advance for your responses.

Jon

I'm also very interested in this question. At L1, I thought the Stalla exams were harder than the real thing (mostly b/c it took longer to solve the Stalla problems - more intermediate steps - they weren't inherently more difficult).

I took a CFA sample exam last year at L1 (the free one on the CFA site) and felt 1) it was more similar to the real questions, and 2) it was easier than the Stalla exams.

I'm concerned that the Stalla exams are on the easy side at L2, but I don't see a free exam sample, and I don't like taking the exam on the computer (versus on paper). It's not an issue of paying... I just don't think the test format is very conducive.
