Hello all,

I just signed up for Level 1 in December and I thought I would introduce myself. I'm 21 and going into my senior year of college. I had been thinking about the CFA for a while now and finally decided to take the plunge. Needless to say, it made a huge dent in my summer savings but I think it will be worth it over time. I'm currently have an internship with a hedge fund and it seems like the CFA is a nice stamp of approval.

My plan is to buy the Schweser notes but what is the difference between this:
http://www.schweser.com/products/packages.php (the basic package) and this:

They both seem to come with the notes and book six as a practice test book. Does the package just include another practice test book?

Welcome aboard. What Hedge fund you working for? Also, how did you get an internship? Did you know someone workign there? Connection? Just curious. :)

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say which hedge fund; I signed all these confidentiality agreements.

Anyway, my school has an internship database and I applied through there. Most of my classmates intern with large I-banks but I chose to go into hedge funds who have small investment projects that they need done during the summer. Because I'm still in school, I'm obviously not allowed to trade, so my main responsibilities have been working on liquidity models, analyzing our exposures, and attending some prime broker roundtable forums with investors.

I've learned quite a bit about the industry and think that it might be best to get some sell side experience first.
