Has anybody used this service?
Its not cheap with packages going for $47, $83, and $147 for 3, 6, and 12 month access respectively.
Just wondering if……………its worth it i guess?
Lots of postings in many cities or mostly centered in large cities?
Is then trend toward entry level or experienced?
Thinking about joining but i thought id see what you all had to say about it first.

Lots of positions for multiple areas, although finance jobs are for the most part concentrated arond the major hubs.
Most of the postings are for experienced candidates, and most postings require that you are in the CFA program and have passed Level 1 at the min (most jobs are for Level 3 candidates and charterholders).

Are there many positions that are NOT on other sites like indeed/efinancialcareers?

I had Storko run a search for this area not too long ago. A few postings at Wells/FAF, but that was it. In my opinion it’s not worthwhile since many of the positions were found in other databases as well.

So, is it another money grip (beside exam fee) from desparate unemployed entry-level candidates who need jobs the most, while most jobs are for experienced or L3 people?

I guess you could say that. CFAI is in the business of offering the CFA Designation, not in headhunting. While some firms may place job postings exclusively on here, I bet that is the exception to the rule.

I actually just signed up for this…. For the 3months. I think it’s worth $47.

On yahoo finance this morning I saw an ad from the CFAI for finding a wealth advisor that has a CFA. Is this a signal for near term charterholder dilution?

In India, rarely any “good” job is on indeed/efinancialcareers/or any other job board.

It was worth it for me – I got my current job on CFA SF line almost two years ago. I looked recently and there was a good hedge fund looking to fill an analyst position similar to the job I have now, so good jobs do come up, and I would definitely recommend it (though results will vary, of course). I think it’s mostly for people with experience and credentials as opposed to people who are brand new to finance from what I have seen. Good luck.

But is that job also advertised on other free job boards? My knock of the CFA jobline is that every single job posting in my area is also advertised on non paying sites.

There was some overlap former trader, but it wasn’t 100% in my experience. The job I took was only posted on CFA SF. I don’t know about the second hedge fund job. I had zero luck with e-financial careers and glocap (worthless!).

is that to say the Jobline has it value, but it is only valuable (and worth the fee) to those who have experience and almost to charter or already have other credentials and plan to switch jobs, but less valuable to those who want to start out / fresh off schools / discouraged long-term unemployed individuals who want to come back / career changers / and other underprivileged categories ?
