If level 4 would ever exist, which subjects would you find there?

I could see FRM becoming L-4, and possibly some kind of financial modeling certification.

You all would also find me there fainted, if I do pass L3 this time that is!!

Nothing sucks more than having work colleagues celebrating their L1-2 results while u have to wait for 2 additional weeks..

Luckily I don’t care, because I have the charter already

If CFA has a Level IV then, irrespective of subjects, one of the new future Charterholders will at the slightest opportunity belittle the current version of CFA programme and the current Charterholders on AF by fussing about how easy it was earlier to get the Charter only with three levels, like a few of the eminent Charterholders on AF do now about the old version of CFA programme and ‘veterans’!

Should there even be a 4th level: could current charterholders be forced to take it ?

I still haven’t gone through L2 & L3, but I’m assuming the following topics still leave some things to be desired.
- Option pricing and valuation models
- Valuing financial, startup, cyclical, or distressed firms
- Accounting fraud and manipulation
- Financial engineering and mathematics (God forbid this)
- Predictive analysis and performance forecast
- Investing and fund strategies
- More in-depth technical analysis

Good list Mr. Smart. A lot of the L2 curriculum is stale and tests stuff not used in the real world.

- Option pricing and valuation models (covered at L2)
- Valuing financial, startup, cyclical, or distressed firms (Valuing start-ups is covered at L2)
- Accounting fraud and manipulation (covered at L2)
- Financial engineering and mathematics (God forbid this)-CFA is not the right program if you want to be a financial engineer. Consider Phd in Computer Sciences, Physics etc.
- Predictive analysis and performance forecast
- Investing and fund strategies (covered at L2)
- More in-depth technical analysis-There’s a program called Chartered Market Technician (CMT), which is solely devoted to technical analysis.
CFA is a “generalist” program, so you might not get the true flavor of a certain topic if you want to learn more about it.

It is my understanding that L1 is a broad coverage of different busines school topics. L2 is equity, corp finance, and accouting statement focused on M&As, and valuation methodologies. L3 emphasizes portfolio management and includes strategies for applying the tools, inputs, and asset valuation models in managing equity, fixed income, and derivative investments

No, there is one thing that sucks worse–registering for Level 3 on the same day that your colleague got his L3 results and says, “Yay! I passed! I am through with the program, while you shmucks still have another year of your life to go!”
You’ll get there, bro. Don’t worry.

How to use the material to get better at your job. Therefore, focus on the 2% of the curriculum that matters.

What are you guys talking about??? Totally rubbish. Of course, level 4 would be purely ethics. What is more important than good ethics??? LOL

-how to get a date
-rectal hydrotherapy
-at what age to move out of parents house
