CFA/MBA/FRM+ ACCA??

Hello,
I am 23 year old final year MBA (Finance/Marketing)student from India,I have cleared two levels of FRM and have enrolled for CFA L1 for december 2013.I have even cleared 4 out of 14 papers of ACCA (equivalent of CPA in Europe).Some people are discouraging me to clear remaining papers of ACCA as according to them CFA/FRM are superior certifications and ACCA would be useless in front of them.I want to be a equity/derivative analyst in future and plan to work from next year (2014)hope fully after completing my MBA and CFA L2 along with FRM.So i want to ask will my ACCA be useless if i do decide to complete it???i would really love to get a global accounting qualification behind my back as i want to migrate after completing all my studies preferbly by 2016 when i will be 26 with 3 yrs of experience???is it a good idea to have a global accounting certification with cfa/frm????if you want to work abroad????

IMHO it just shows that you don’t know what you want to do! ACCA is an accounting certification, CFA deals with investments (I can see how you can make case for ACCA, being complementary in valuations/investment analysis in this case) but FRM is much more narrowly focused on risk only (which is useless unless you are directly working in risk management).
 
@ninja economist: frm was not much of investment clearing 2 exams in 1 day by preparing rigourously for 3 months,any way brother FRM is quite deep in quant/derivative/portfolio/fixed income as compared to cfa (levels) so i used FRM as a stepping stone towards CFA now, i am finding CFA quite easy (except FRA).I know what i am doing brother, see most of economics/elementary finance stuff of cfa is coverd in my mba ,quant/derivative/fixed income/porfolio stuff of CFA is well coverd in 2 levels of FRM that i have cleared.So i think leaving FRA and GIPS concepts i have covered most of CFA concept and is in much better position to give CFA L1 in december 2013 as compared to others+ i am only 23 so if by 25 i can clear all levels of cfa along with acca then at 25 i will have cfa/frm/acca/mba with 2 yrs of industry experienc!!!! I think its a safe bet……
My main question is will all this hard work help me migrate to some developed country like singapore/europe/usa etc??????

Seems like everyone in here wants an interesting, stimulating, meaningful job with a big paycheck. There are not many jobs like that, at least if you compare to the number of people qualified for those kinds of jobs. So, what can you do? Just taking more and more education and wait for someone to hire you?
Underemployment will keep rising everywhere in the world. From my viewpoint, there is a huge supply/demand imbalance, and that imbalance will keep on growing. Dissatisified people will keep on getting CFA, MBA, FRM, CIPM etc in search for their dream job, and they will end up doing simple Excel calculation. Most people with university degree (total 15-18 years of education) end up doing routine tasks, even if they dont understand it, or dont want to admit it. Like Bob Dylan sang “20 years of schoolin, and they put you on the day shift”
There are so many unemployed/underemployed people with business/economics degree in the developed world, you need an edge to get a good job. If you are an Indian, it might be a good idea to find companies in US/EU with business in India. Do research on the Indian market for them, be a consultant or whatever. Find a niche.
 
i agree with what you said but what is the problem if i get all these degrees while still being in college???i have 1 yr of college left and i want to clear atleast cfa l2 and 50% of acca by then……after mba next yr i will take the job and say in 1.5 more years would complete cfa l3 and acca!!!!!bro in india competition is cut throat and there are not many opportunities for advance certificate holders!!!!thats y i want to migrate to utilise my talent to optimum…

Many examples of this in various countries. In some asian countries, you have PhD’s competing to be garbage men
 
can you tell me those countries?????as far as india goes ppl with decent phds get $1500 per month which is great compared to low cost of leaving!!!!!!!!!by the way i m talking abt cfa/frm/acca which are globally recognisied courses!!!!i m not talkin or doing any asian courses so too speak…….
 
Forget Greenman, he seems to slate everyone that gets the 3 levels in CFA on their first attempt. Anyone who has a high GMAT and anyone who goes for the FRM and CFA in combination.
You seem like a bright person whose good at studying. Why wouldn’t you want to do the ACCA? If you have the time, the will power and determination, you should certainly do it. If you have a wife, kids, are 30yrs old and don’t know what you’re doing in life then forget it….Your 23! Just tell any employer that at 23 you still didn’t really know what you wanted to do…you enjoy studying and building your knowledge..that why you took all those exams.
Personally, I would love to have all those qualifications under my belt.

no opportunities? Move! Go to singapore, dubai, London, NYC. There are opportuniites all over the world. People always need good people! You’re young, have a good education, can speak English.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re trying to say here, but you used “slate” as a verb (and I don’t know what it means), and you have a sentence fragment. In other words, you have written a lot of incoherent garbage.
But I certainly don’t think that I have ever “slated” anybody.
@OP - Finish school, get the best job you can, and work concurrently on ONE well-known, well respected designation. Then decide if you want to go for another.

Slate is a British verb which means to informally criticize. i.e. his work was slated by the critics.
