Hi All,

I am level III candidate in San Francisco now. Would like to know some friends in this industry in bay area. you can reach me at [email protected].

JayJay, where is your CFA wannabe dinner/beer call hosted? in China or in US?

Hi all:

Everybody in this thread all seems to be much interested in the financial industry in China. How about creating a list of emails so that we can communicate among ourselves on this topic. What you guys/gals think?

I am a Level III candidate in Dallas, TX, have economics degrees, came from Beijing, and currently work in a telecom company.

Na,

you've already got my details

I'm in Sydney Australia, working as an equity trader for one of the old boys. I grew up in Shanghai and spent a decent amount of my youth in Beijing as well (loved it there! )

anyhow, I have been speaking to my old boss and a couple of people interested in the Chinese finance industry here, seems to me the whole Chinese fund industry is like a big mystery. a lot of people, not much FUM, A LOT of potentials and a pretty crappy compliance system (sounds like my type of heaven by th way)

Richard:

r u back Sydney? or in Hongkong now. any suggestion for organizing our group?

Anyone has any ideas?

Hey, everyone,

I hope I am not too late to join this scheme, me, from Beijing, currently in SF, and work in one of the big wirehouse as a FA, level-II candidate, look forward to keeping abreast of Chinese market.

Happy sharing with you all, and best luck to everyone!

My email is: [email protected]

PS: Do we have a mail group yet?

Cindy

as far as I'm aware, we don't have an offical email group, however, Nathan is working on this as we speak (?)

Yes, I'm back from the HK trip. China proved to be a great 'potential' idea, but unrealistic for the time being. (this is from my boss)

Personally I believe the Chinese buy side is more attractive than the sell side. However, most international players (Cindy, u might be able to back me up on this one) have all seperated their Asian investment arms. Hence you can find a group of boutique asian investment specialists operating small FUMs.

In order to get into China, I'll probably have to dive straight in there and quit my current job (which I am quite comfortable with). the uncertainties....

Nice to meet those elites here.
