Hi All,

I think we all should raise a word with CFA institute to allow Indians to register adn appear for exam in other countries.

Oroblem is with conducting the exam in India but not with Indians giving the exam (if I understand it correctly)

What say guys ..

Indians will be able to take the exam. This is just another skirmish in the duel between CFAI and CFA India (or whatever it's called). Just study up and relax. Or get a mailbox address in the US and take the test anyway.

Wait a min...is this for all Indians universally i.e. Indians holding Indian passports...or only Indians who are in India.

I am currently studying abroad. So does that mean I can sit for the exam then?

Even Media(electronic, print, internet) do not cover anything
No news!!

I am sure only if you are resident of India. If you are indian national with legal residency outside india & can appear in country of legal resident, there is no problem.

I am on H1B in US, so I can appear in US.

If court does not permit Indian centre (funniest part)
, I need to relocate to Singapore to become L-II candidate.
Its not possible for all 10,000 Indian candidates:(

Noone(even foreigner) in India can register now.
as Indian centres are not allowed

Does it mean someone sitting in india on an indian passport evenif willing to take an exam outside is not allowed to take the exam or is the exam is banned for centres in india only?

I am an Indian, residing in India, passed L-I from Nepal(original centre was delhi)
Now,I cant register for L-II(registration starting Aug-first week)
cant even opt for other outside centres:(
Dec Exam for L-I is not taking place(not official though!!)
But imagine, even if Court clears at the 11th Hour(like it did during June), Can a candidate pass these CFA exams in 2-4 weeks?
impossible

Nitya, couldn't you technically relocate to any country, Singapore included?

Patience... December07 may be difficult but I cannot believe it won't be settled before Jun08.

Wouldn't worry too much about it.

and nitya you forgot to mention the cost impact of late registrations....

nitya don't worry! i am sure that we would be able to take L2 next year in india itself. :)

Any updates on the issue. has CFAI allowed for indians to register on a repeat exam?

As regards allowing Indian candidates to sit for the exam in December the High Court will consider the matter on the 10th of August.

The High Court has fixed the 6th of September as the date for the final disposal of the case

Lets keep fingers crossed
