CFA vs. MBA

I am thinking on study for the Jun07 L1 exam

I am also considerating to applicate for an investment bank job at London (currently at Madrid, in a BIG4 corp finance dept)

Should I otherwise start an MBA?

If studying for the CFA,

should i buy the Curriculum programm or the schweser notes?

(not too much time available)
 
"applicate" is that London English or some Hispanic version of some word related to apply? My advise, go for both. I have an MBA in Finance and now working on the CFA exams. It helps in the long-run.

Honestly mate? Judging from your English, I dont think you did your undergrad in the UK. And if you havent got a First Class Hons. degree from Oxbridge its virtually impossible to get a job in investment banking, esp. if you are from overseas.

Why dont you try Madrid? Its a pretty decent financial centre,as far as I am aware...
 
yes, i know Madrid is a good financial centre, but as you realized I should improve my english
 
Both are important. In some respects the CFA is even more important than the MBA.

For years, I was the hiring manager (Director of Research) for one of the 30 largest pension funds in the world. When I was hiring new analysts without experience if he/she was not studying for the CFA Level I exam this was a negative (I knew that those that were studying were really serious about entering the field).

I now teach a CFA review course at Durham University in England and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the US in both universities' Master's programs.

Hi!
I have an MBA and I am also enrolled for the CFA June 2007 Level I
There are 2 different things; when u are applying for a finance position (I mean CFO, invest bank, analyst) you would better have CFA; if u consider a postion in general management, project management, marketing etc I would feel more confortable with an MBA
