CFAI launches new program on Jan 9, 2013 - Claritas

This is BS. Will def dilute the charter. Im quitting.
Actually just the opposite. Right now a lot of people in asia and working in back office/IT take up the CFA exams. From now on they will be split between the actual designation and claritas, reducing the number of charterholders from this region.

Since this program is designed for NON-investment related work, the theory is that “maybe” it won’t dilute the CFA charter. But in reality, we know that the big majority of back office folks (mostly the younger crowd) all want to move to front office and will go for the CFA charter anyway.
So, that implies it’s really the older generation that will go for this Claritas. But that’s the group most unlikely to want to go back and take tests. thye probably already have years of experience in back office anyway.
Thus, I don’t think this program will be successful.

I actually think it’s a good certificate since CFA pigeon holes you in asset management/ER. Might be good to combine CFA/Claritas.
You don’t know much about this, do you L1 candidate? CFAs are everywhere, and if you don’t like the self described pigeon hole, why pursue it?
and neither do you Level 2 candidate. As a level 2 candidate, you should know not to use CFA designation as a noun.
